About The Author

Muhammad b. 'Isa b. Thawra b. Musa b. al-Dahhak Tirmidhi. His Kunya (honorific name) was Abu 'Isa but most widely known as Imam Tirmidhi. He was born in the year 209 A.H. and died in Rajab 279 A.H. at the age of seventy.

He was the compiler of al-Jami` ut-Tirmidhi which is among the six authentic books of hadith. al-Jami` ut-Tirmidhi has been categorized as fifth amongst the six most authentic books of hadith. According to the most preferred opinion, Bukhari enjoys the highest status, followed by Muslim, Abu Dawood, Nasai, Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah respectively, however some scholar differ on this categorisation , (Haji Khalifa in al-Kashf al-Dhunoon has categorised Tirmidhi in third position. Some Scholar Do Include The Muwatta of Imam Malik in this List after Bukhari and Muslim).

According to Ibn Taymiyya and Shah Waliullah, Imam Timidhi was an independent Jurist (Mujtahid).

Imam Ahmad ibn Ali al-Asqalani (d. 852/1448), famously known as Ibn Hajar after one of his ancestors is arguably the best hadith scholar of the Mamluk period. The Dhahabi of his time and the amir al-muminin of the hadith scholars. 

About Imam Ibn Hajar Al-Haytami

Shihab al-Din Abu al-'Abbas Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn 'Alī ibn Hajar al-Haytami al-Makki is a student of Zakariyya al-Ansari. He represents the foremost resource for legal opinion (Fatwa) in the entire late Shafi`i school. 

About Imam Nawawi
Imam Muhyi din Abi Zakariyya Yahya ibn Sharaff al-Nawawi known simply as Imam Nawawi was also the Imam of the later Shafi'i school of Jurisprudence and widely acknowledged as the intellectual heir to Imam Shafi'i. He was a renowned scholar and jurist who dedicated his life to pursuing Islamic learning.
