An English Translation of the Musnad Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal 5 Vols. Set

One of the greatest compilations of the Sunnah and collections of Hadith is Al-Musnad by Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal. It is arranged according to the Companions (Sahabah) who narrated the Hadiths, beginning with the ‘Asharah al-Mubashsharah—the ten Companions who were given the glad tidings of Paradise. This structure reflects their noble rank and the tremendous efforts they made to preserve the sayings and traditions (Ahadith) of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).

The Musnad of Imam Ahmad has been highly praised by scholars and experts of Hadith (Muhaddithin). Al-Hafiz Abu Musa al-Madini authored a work in which he highlighted the remarkable qualities of this compilation. He wrote:

“This book is a fundamental source and a trustworthy reference for the scholars of Hadith. Imam Ahmad selected its contents from the vast number of Hadiths that reached him and the numerous reports he heard. He devoted great effort to ensure it became a distinguished, leading, and reliable collection. When differences of opinion arise, it serves as a refuge and a valuable aid in resolving them.”
